Why the 90's style website?

Social Media Sucks

I've gotten tired of social media and using it to keep others aware of how I'm doing, or keeping track of how others are doing. Social sites are flooded with algorithms - mixing in actually useful or interesting updates with ads, trending posts, likes and retweets, vitriol, and other useless things. Social media is also generally extremely homogeneous. For most websites, every profile is basically identical and can't really be personalized with regards to structure or layout or even color.
